Truly Independent Voices with Garreth Paul "Get Under the Moon" Preview

I recently appeared on the "Truly Independent Voices" podcast with host Garreth Paul. During the episode we do a deep dive into the title track of my new record, “Get Under the Moon.” But we also discuss and preview a few other tracks on the record, including my versions of "Singing in the Bathtub," "Dreams of Aloha," and a new original tune called "Kaukauna March!" We also discuss my history, process, and how I've remained a self-employed musician since 2010. It’s available on a wide range of podcast outlets. Check it out!

"Caresses Venitiennes" from Get Under the Moon

Steel guitarist Gino Bordin was a contemporary of Django Reinhardt in 1920s, 30s, and 40s French popular music. Like Django, he got his start in Jean Vaissade’s musette band, playing the banjo guitar. He was also an endorser of the new Selmer guitar in the mid-30s, playing a non cutaway Selmer Model Hawaiian. He’s always been a favorite steel guitar player of mine. So I decided to include his “Caresses Venitiennes” on my forthcoming new record, Get Under the Moon. Here's a video demo of the song. I hope you enjoy it!
